Privacy Policy
Effective 26 September 2026
- There is no account and no sign-up. We run no servers that store your data.
- Your alarms, wake history, goals, voice notes and morning briefs stay on your iPhone.
- The AI that writes your morning brief and the speech recognition both run on your iPhone. Nothing you type or say is sent to us or to any AI company.
- The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. Google receives some device and usage information to show and measure ads. Morrin never asks to track you across other companies' apps and websites.
- If you subscribe to Morrin Pro, Morrin does not load the ad software at all.
Who we are
Morrin is developed by Rovshan Maharramov ("we", "us"), who is responsible for the app and this policy. Contact: support@morrinapp.com.
Information that stays on your iPhone
Morrin stores the following only on your device, in the app's private storage. We do not receive it, and it is never uploaded by Morrin.
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Alarms and their settings | To ring your alarms | Until you delete them or the app |
| Wake history — when an alarm rang, when you got up, snoozes, which mission you did, and a movement score | Streaks, progress and adjusting mission difficulty | Until you delete the app |
| Tomorrow's "one thing" you write at night, and your answer to "did it happen?" | To read it back to you in the morning | Until you delete the app |
| Voice notes you record at bedtime | To play them back after your alarm | Deleted automatically after 30 days |
| Your morning brief (text and synthesised audio) | To play it after your alarm | Deleted automatically after 3 days |
| Photo mission places | To check you're at the place you chose | Until you delete them — only a numeric "fingerprint" of the photo is kept, never the photo itself |
| Scan-a-code mission codes | To check you scanned the right code | Until you delete them |
| Your name, if you enter it, and your preferences | To personalise the brief and the app | Until you change them or delete the app |
| Whether you have Pro or a Day Pass | To unlock features, even offline | Until it changes |
Deleting Morrin from your iPhone deletes all of this. If you back up your iPhone, iOS may include Morrin's data in that backup, which Apple protects.
On-device AI and speech
Your morning brief is written by Apple's on-device language model (Apple Intelligence) or, where that is not available, by a built-in template, and is spoken by your iPhone's built-in voices. The "Say why, out loud" mission checks what you said using Apple's on-device speech recognition. The audio is processed and discarded on your iPhone; it is not recorded, stored or sent anywhere. Morrin does not use any cloud AI service.
Permissions
Every permission is optional and asked for only when a feature needs it. Refusing one never stops your alarms from ringing.
- Alarms — so alarms can ring through Silent mode and Focus.
- Microphone and speech recognition — for bedtime voice notes and the "Say why, out loud" mission. Processed on your iPhone.
- Camera — for the Photo and Scan-a-code missions. Images are compared on your iPhone and not stored.
- Motion & Fitness — to count your steps for the walking mission. The Shake mission and the check that you actually got up read the phone's motion sensors directly on your iPhone, which needs no permission. The raw readings aren't kept — only the movement score in your wake history.
- Calendar (optional) — to mention the title and time of your first event in the morning brief. Read on your iPhone at bedtime; never sent anywhere.
- Notifications (optional) — for the bedtime reminder. These are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone.
Advertising in the free version
The free version of Morrin shows a small banner at the bottom of the alarm list and the Progress screen, and offers an optional rewarded video ("Day Pass") that unlocks Pro features for 24 hours. There are never ads on the alarm itself, the wake-up mission, the morning brief or the bedtime screen.
Ads are provided by Google AdMob (Google LLC). To show ads, prevent fraud and measure how ads perform, Google's software in the app collects information such as:
- device identifiers used for advertising and analytics (Morrin does not request, and Google cannot read, your device's advertising identifier — see below)
- your IP address, from which an approximate location is derived
- interactions with ads, such as views and taps
- diagnostic information about the ad software, such as crashes and performance
Google processes this information under its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. How Google uses information from apps that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
No tracking across apps. Morrin never shows Apple's "Allow tracking" prompt, so the advertising identifier on your device is not available to Morrin or to Google, and your activity in Morrin is not linked with other companies' apps or websites.
Your choices. Where the law requires it — for example in the European Economic Area, the UK, Switzerland and some US states — Morrin asks for your consent before ads are personalised, using Google's consent tool, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings › Ad privacy choices. You can report an inappropriate ad from Settings › Report an ad. Subscribing to Morrin Pro removes ads entirely; Pro subscribers' devices never load Google's ad software.
Purchases
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed entirely by Apple. We never see your name, email address or payment details. The app checks your purchase status with Apple on your iPhone so that Pro works offline. To manage or cancel a subscription, use Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions on your iPhone.
What we don't do
- We don't have accounts, and we don't run servers that store information about you.
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't use analytics or crash-reporting services of our own.
- We don't send your goals, voice notes, calendar or wake history anywhere.
Children
Morrin is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads in Morrin are limited to content suitable for a general audience.
Your rights
Because your Morrin data stays on your device, you can view, change or delete it directly in the app, or delete everything by deleting the app. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or US state privacy laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. For information processed by Google for advertising, use Settings › Ad privacy choices and Google's controls at myadcenter.google.com. For anything else, email support@morrinapp.com — we'll respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Where personalised ads are shown, the legal basis is your consent (where required) or our legitimate interest in funding a free version of the app. Information handled by Google may be processed in the United States and other countries under Google's safeguards.
Security
Your data is stored in Morrin's private storage on your iPhone and protected by iOS, including device encryption when your iPhone is locked.
Changes to this policy
If Morrin starts handling information differently — for example, if optional accounts or cloud features are added in a future version — we'll update this policy before that version is released and change the date above.
